The Network Construction Operations (Water) (NCO(W)) scheme is intended for all persons who undertake work on the water network. It provides employers and asset owners with a means of ensuring that all people undertaking work for them on the water network have an appropriate level of relevant skills, knowledge and understanding. There are three pathways available at level 2 to suit workplace requirements with both mandatory and optional units to suit job roles:

  • Main laying
  • Service laying
  • Repair and Maintenance
Objectives

By the end of this course the participants will be able to:

  • Demonstrate competence in one or more of the three disciplines listed above
  • Demonstrate the knowledge required to competently carry out the tasks expected of a water network distribution operative in the workplace
  • Demonstrate competence in covering a range of activities for their job role
Method

The course will consist of a mixture of classroom based tuition workshop based practical exercises and assessments. The candidate will be assessed and assisted in producing an evidence portfolio in the workplace

Pre Course Requirements

Learners should have the ability to work autonomously whilst carrying out their job role. They should come equipped with PPE including foot, head, eye and ear protection plus gloves and overalls
