Classroom based training and assessment

Pre Course Requirements

When will I get a virtual card? From 14 February, all new EUSR registrations will be issued with a virtual card instead of the current plastic card. To access the virtual card, you will need a smartphone or tablet and you will need to register your mobile number with EUSR.

Why does EUSR need my mobile number? All new EUSR registrations will come with a virtual card by default, which will make checking the card quicker and more secure on site and will reduce the plastic we all use. You must provide a mobile number to receive SMS message, with a unique registration and PIN number to access your virtual card.

What if I don’t have a smartphone or tablet device? You will need to request an additional plastic smart card from your training provider when they are processing your registration with EUSR. The plastic smart card contains a chip that can be scanned by the checking app, Checarda. If you have a mobile phone that isn’t a smartphone, you can still use the number when your registration is processed so that your EUSR record is complete, but you’ll need to request a plastic smart card as you won’t be able to use a virtual card on your mobile if it isn’t a smartphone. A plastic smart card can also be requested later using our replacement card process.

Will plastic smart cards be issued automatically? No, they will only be issued on request, when your training provider submits details of your new registration. The default EUSR card will be a virtual card. The use of virtual cards significantly reduces the plastic we are using in line with our sector-wide drive toward greater sustainability. If you need a plastic smart card, you or your employer should let the training provider know so it can be requested when the training provider registers your completed training with EUSR.
