To provide participants with the skills to identify good practice in the installation, modification and repair of water mains & service pipes. Topics covered include:

  • Basic excavation safety
  • Pipe materials & fittings used in the water industry
  • How water mains are cut, laid, jointed & repaired
  • How water service pipes are cut, laid, jointed & repaired
  • The reasons for water networks components and how they are installed & operated
  • Mains commissioning

Mixture of classroom and practical

Pre Course Requirements

Learners will be expected to participate in some practical exercises. Learners will need to bring PPE.
