  • Plan and carry out valve operations on distribution networks
  • Describe contamination risks to distribution networks and control measures used to limit them
  • Explain various methods of leakage control and detection
  • Describe water quality situations where mains cleansing is necessary and specify appropriate techniques
  • Describe the principles of water supply hygiene as applied to water distribution systems
  • Describe common plumbing systems and explain how water behaves within them
  • Explain the primary objectives of the Water Fittings Regulations
  • Demonstrate flow and pressure measurement against industry standards
  • Determine ownership of service pipes in a range of different circumstances
  • Describe the customer service standards relating to the supply of drinking water
Method

The course will consist of a mixture of classroom based tuition and practical exercises.
