A two day course giving an introduction to wastewater tertiary treatment, covering the purpose, methods, monitoring, maintenance and troubleshooting

Objectives

By the end of this course the participants will be able to:

  • Explain the purpose of tertiary treatment including: where it fits into the overall treatment process and the implications of not achieving efficient treatment
  • Discuss the scope of tertiary treatment processes and what they can individually achieve
  • Illustrate the operation and maintenance requirements of a range of tertiary treatments including lagoons, grass plots, micro-strainers, clarifiers, reed beds, sand filters and UV disinfection

Mainly classroom based training with flipchart and practical exercises and discussion.
