To assist learners in gaining the knowledge required to carry out Authorised Person duties and responsibilities in order to achieve compliance with Safety Rules and Procedures designed to meet the requirements of the Pressure Systems Safety Regulations 2000.

This course is accredited by City and Guilds.

Objectives

  • Recognise mechanical systems and components
  • Understand the requirements of pressure systems safety regulations
  • Understand the requirements of HASAWA 1974 and delegated legislation
  • Determine safe systems of work associated with mechanical systems
  • Understand isolation and task risk assessments
  • Understand monitoring and audit requirements
  • Complete safety documentation including hands on implementation

Who Should Attend?

Experienced engineering staff with responsibility for the implementation of risk management systems and procedures as an inherent part of, and in accordance with, their Organisation's Safety Policy.

Primarily, those with responsibility for the control, operation or maintenance of installed mechanical plant and who may be appointed as Authorised Person Mechanical or Pressure Systems. Additionally, those with overseeing and audit responsibilities within this area of specialisation should also attend.
