Asbestos Awareness
This course aims to provide candidates with theoretical training to enable them to demonstrate a good level of asbestos awareness in order to protect themselves and those around them from the effects of exposure to asbestos.
Objectives
By the end of this course the participants will be able to:
- Accurately identify common asbestos products.
- An overview of the legislative measures in place to permit employees to safeguard themselves and others affected by work activities from asbestos.
- Identify where asbestos may be found in buildings or in the work place.
- An understanding of the hazards, health risks and controls associated with the accidental disturbance of asbestos.
Method
A class room based training course using a mixture of trainer presentation and exercises.

Who Should Attend?
Anyone needing to understand the risks posed by exposure to asbestos and the control measures required to minimise that risk. This could also include maintenance workers, painters, decorators, plumbers joiners, construction workers, heating and ventilation engineers, demolition workers to name but a few.
