Clients & Testimonials

Thames Water have worked with MeritSkills Ltd over the past few months on a diversity of training projects. At all times they were professional and delivered quality work in a timely fashion. Whilst this may be the standard of service we expect from a supplier, all too often we experience companies that are unable to adapt sufficiently to change and meet these standards. MeritSkills Ltd has set the pace and often exceeded our expectations!

Just to say thank you for all your help with training for the Street Works Qualification. We found MeritSkills Ltd were exceptionally flexible in allowing us to schedule our training to suit our needs, we are now confident that our employees not only have the necessary qualifications but, more importantly, the understanding and competence to carry out their work safely.

I had such a lovely experience with Merit Skills. They really worked around the dates and number of learners I needed to book in for the Confined Space course. It was such a pleasure to work with them, they even check after the course has happened that all went well!

I would recommend Merit Skills to anyone looking to get their staff qualified.

Sutton and East Surrey Water enlist Merit Skills as our preferred supplier for a large proportion of our mandatory and developmental training from Confined Space/Cable Avoidance to the delivery of Diploma’s in Water Network Distribution and NVQ in Plant Operation. A professional and timely service is always received and they always go the extra mile to ensure that our needs are met. We simply cannot fault the training delivery as our employees regularly give positive feedback. We would recommend the Merit Skills team due to their professional, friendly, non-sales targeted approach with an exemplary record in our opinion!

Recently I had the good fortune to be put in touch with Merit Skills. During my time working at my employer, I started to grow frustrated in my lack of options for progression and decided to enquire about training, education, and schemes designed for working adults. I was told about Merit Skills and their skills as a company, and how they could help me progress into management, from basic shop floor work, and how they would help, teach, and guide me every step of the way into gaining recognised industry qualifications.

I was originally tasked simply with turning up to a meet and greet informal meeting so we could discuss my options with my assessor, and then choose how I would like to progress within my career; all the while being advised and professionally guided by Merit Skills vast knowledge in several of the fields they are qualified to assess. Once I'd picked my courses, I was assessed on my basic Mathematics, English comprehension, and problem solving techniques; required to assess my levels of operational ability as an individual. Through these tests, Merit Skills was able to tailor my learning and education to me specifically, not the standard 'one size fits all' courses that businesses usually throw at everyone. I felt valued, professionally vocal, and challenged; but I never once felt out of my depth and Merit Skills were always able to help me with any issues or terminology I was unfamiliar with so I could progress unhindered.

The courses themselves are relatively straight forward; you turn up to assigned and agreed upon personal meetings (no peer pressure!), complete assignments, exams, or demonstrate your working ability by completing coursework at home at your own pace and in your own time. I personally felt I could do more work at once, and so chose to work through my work folder much quicker than the average student because I felt comfortable doing so, and was supported in this choice. As I result I finished several months earlier than I was expected to. This pleased both me and my company; especially when they saw that I was an investment to be taken seriously, as opposed to a risk that they had taken a chance on and weren't seeing any results from academically.

I would recommend Merit Skills for any and all tutoring needs you may require. My reasons for this are mainly due to my assessors character as an individual where he puts a casual slant on something that would usually be extremely boring, unrewarding, and rather unattractive for the average employee. That and his professional attitude, constant encouragement, open-door policy to assisting you (I once called him at 10pm because I didn't understand a question in my coursework!), and his enjoyment and his genuine enthusiasm at seeing his students succeed. Quite simply, my assessor is the best tutor I have ever had, and I'm glad I took a chance on him and utilised his skills to assist me in furthering my career goals. As a result, I am now a student of Civil Engineering in a prestigious local college on my way to a degree; a step I never would have thought possible unless I'd have been actively encouraged to succeed under my own steam by my assessor, whom of which my passion for learning and bettering myself would never have been realised once again.
