Miles Cameron

Miles Cameron joins Merit Skills from Yorkshire Water.

I have over 20 years’ experience in the Water Industry, in Water, Wastewater and Sewerage functions at Yorkshire Water and Kelda Water Services. During my career I have successfully held a variety of senior technical, operational and asset management roles. In recent years I have lead and supported in-house and external training sessions in both formal and informal settings to many operational colleagues (topics have ranged from H&S, Technical/Process to Personal and Career Development). I have also provided mentoring and coaching support to a variety of colleagues across the business and continue to advocate the positive benefits of coaching to individuals and teams.

In my new role I will be working with the Operations Director and team in managing the delivery of training and assessments, further enhancing and developing our portfolio to current and potentially new clients along with developing and supporting our business strategy to meet both regulatory and customer requirements.

Outside of work I am a busy family man spending time with my wife and children supporting their respective hobbies and sports. I have a passion and interest in listening to and playing music including playing the drums in numerous amateur bands over the years. I also have a keen interest in aviation and flying (still aspiring to gain a Private Pilot’s Licence at some point!). Towards the end of 2017 I completed a 27 mile charity hike for the Macmillan Cancer charity so now have an eye on supporting future charitable events for causes close to my heart along with the need for some personal physical and mental challenges.

I am delighted to have joined the Merit Skills team and really look forward to contributing to the ongoing success and growth of the business for many years to come.
