This training course aims to provide learners with skills and knowledge necessary to carry out work at height using a variety of access methods which include ladders, step ladders, trestles, general access and tower scaffolds and mobile elevated working platforms

Objectives

By the end of this course the participants will be able to:

  • Outline the requirements of legislation in relation to work at heights

  • Assess the hazards and risks present when working at height

  • Identify appropriate risk control measures

  • Identify and select appropriate access and safety equipment for working at height

  • Carry out and record safety checks on access and safety equipment

  • Describe how access and safety equipment for working at heights can be used safely

Method

A classroom based training course using a mixture of trainer presentation and desk top exercises. Practical exercises may be incorporated where facilities allow
